From the analysis of some Brazilian National Curriculum Parameters’ goals, evaluate the following assertions and the proposed relationship between them.
In relation to the objectives, it is necessary, finally, to reflect on the conditions found in the vast majority of schools. It is known that in learning a foreign language, factors such as quantity, intensity and continuity of language exposure are determinant in the level of competence developed and the speed with which goals can be achieved.
BECAUSE
The administration and organization of foreign language teaching, however, are inadequate in relation to those aspects. The number of hours dedicated to the Foreign Language is reduced, rarely exceeding two hours per week; the total workload, in turn, is also reduced; the allocation of discipline is often at less privileged times, etc. These limitations are unacceptable.
